In our family home, the wooden cupboards contain childhood treasures: dried sprigs of lavender, slipped between the sheets by my mother, her mother and no doubt her grandmother before them. With each opening, a sweet fragrance fills the air, recalling the warmth of summers past.
To capture this sweetness, we distilled lavender, adding a touch of bergamot for freshness, then violet for delicacy. Pear adds sweetness, while tonka bean and vanilla wrap everything in comforting warmth.

When you burn your candle for the first time, let it burn for two hours, until the top layer of wax has completely melted.
Ideally, you should keep the wick trimmed to a maximum of one centimeter (0.4 inches) at all times to prevent the candle emitting smoke or the wick falling into the wax.
After each burn, check that the wick is well centered in the wax, this also ensures that the glass doesn't overheat. As you near the end of the candle, leave a centimeter (0.4 inches) of unburned wax and make sure you don't burn the candle for more than 3 hours.
